Creative T30 Wireless Speakers

We’ve been extremely lucky to be given the chance to try the Creative T30 Wireless speakers.

I was very excited when we were told we could try these speakers out and a little research on the interwebs got me more excited.

So first of all what are these speakers about? What does the creators Creative say about them?

2.0 Wireless Speakers with NFC

Creative T30 Wireless builds on the technology of our GigaWorks T20 Series, featuring custom-made silk dome tweeters and woven glass-fiber cone drivers for excellent dynamic response, and BasXport® technology for high-output bass. It now comes with Bluetooth® capability and aptX® audio codec support to give you high-quality wireless playback and is further equipped with NFC for easy, one-touch pairing.

Primed for smooth highs and full-bodied midrange

Creative T30 Wireless features a 2-Driver Design – the custom-made silk dome tweeters give you silky smooth highs, while the woven glass-fibre cone drivers deliver natural and accurate full-bodied midrange. They work in tandem to produce an excellent dynamic response.

Get high-output bass

With the built-in BasXPort™ technology, each speaker is integrated with a large port tube to channel sound waves from the inner chamber of the satellite to the soundstage, giving you high-output bass.

Creative T30 Wireless features an integrated line-in jack for connection to other analog audio devices, and a dedicated headphones jack for private listening. An RCA-to-3.5mm adapter is also included, giving you more connectivity options.

Looking sleek in its glossy black piano finishing with contrasting yellow-rimmed drivers and silver-colored detailing, the Creative T30 Wireless is the perfect addition to any room.

The speakers are also designed for maximum convenience – controls such as power, volume, bass and treble adjustments are all conveniently located on the front panel for easy access.

Face the music

Each of the speaker’s face panel is tilted at a 10° angle for optimal audio projection directly at the listener.

1 Bluetooth A2DP-compliant devices.

Well I must say these speakers are sexy, sleek and stylish. I was rather impressed when I opened the box to see how nice they look. There black gloss finish makes them look beautiful and you can clearly see a lot of thought has gone into designing these to ensure there modern and look great without compromising on the quality of the sound.

Setting up the speakers was really easy. You get a UK 3 Pin plug, Power cord and power adapter. It’s one of those where you plug the power cord into an adapter and there is plenty of wire so placing them in the perfect location shouldn’t be an issue.

The right speaker has an RCA cable built in which you then plug into the left speaker to hook them up. The cable length is ideal for any desk or home setup. I’ve found it’s a tad too short for what I want to do and that’s to place one speaker on each side of my double bed so I’ve purchased an extension cable. Hopefully this won’t cause any issues with audio and i’ll update this review to advise what happens.

That’s it in terms of wires! The speakers do come with a 3.5mm audio cable to connect to a phone, MP3 player (If people still use them?) iPod etc. Although these speakers are Bluetooth compatible so you probably won’t need to use the 3.5mm audio cable but it’s great that it’s supplied with one.

It had Bluetooth 3.0 built in so it should work with almost any device. The device is also great as it also features NFC

If your device has Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities, simply tap it on the speakers’ NFC receptor for easy, fuss-free pairing!

The Bluetooth setup is really easy too. Just press and hold the Bluetooth button for 3 seconds till it flashes repeatedly. Go to your device and connect to Creative T30 Wireless.

I connected the speakers up to my Macbook Pro which was really simple and hassle free. While the speakers don’t come with a subwoofer you’d not actually notice. The design and features built into these speakers mean the best of songs sound great.

I’ve listened to the following songs using the speakers so far (Don’t judge my taste :P)

  1. Billy Ocean – Caribbean Queen
  2. Billy Ocean – Get outta my dreams
  3. Billy Ocean – Love Really hurts without you
  4. Billy Ocean – When the going gets tough
  5. Corona – Rhythm of the night
  6. Black Eyed Peas – Don’t stop the party
  7. Pet Shop Boys – West End Girls
  8. Sara Bareilles – Brave

All of which sound amazingly good. I really am impressed with these speakers.

Priced at around £99 they are well worth the money.
